Eswatini to host next APPN general meeting

The members countries of the African Public Procurment Network (APPN) and experts in public order met from 14 to 16 November 2019 during the first general meeting held in Dakar in Senegal. At the end of this high-level forum under the theme “Innovative approaches to public procurement”, Eswatini has been designated to host the next conference 2020, succeeding Senegal.
The kingdom of Eswatini will have the heavy responsibility of organizing the APPN General Assembly 2020. To do this, it will have to work in concert with the Technical Secretariat, occupied by Togo, and all 43 countries, which have already joined the network.
Mr. MADODA Mngomezulu, Director General of the Eswatini Public Procurment Regulatory Agency (ESPPRA), is the new president of APPN. He succeeds Mr. Saer Niang, Director General of Public Procurment Regulatory Autority (PPRA) of Senegal.
Mr. MADODA said he was confident about the good organization of the next General Assembly, which should take place during the last week of October 2020 in Ezulwini, if sanitary conditions, in particular the COVID 19 pandemic were to be brought under control. This continental mass will be placed under the theme “Public Procurement for the Economic Development of Africa – Crisis, Challenges and Prospects”. He makes the success of this general assembly a challenge for his country.
The African Public Procurment Network was created in Lomé in Togo in October 2018.
