Rwanda Welcoming the 13th East Africa Procurement Forum April 15-16, 2021
The public procurement forum of the East Africa Community has been organized each year since 2008. And this 13th is held this year from April 15 to April 16, 2021 in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. The theme is “Strengthening integrity and accountability in public procurement for an effective emergency response”
The objective is to promote public procurement good practices and harmonize the public procurement processes in East Africa.
It’s a golden opportunity for participants to share experiences and challenges for a constant amelioration of public procurement system in all countries and sustain the desire of member countries in harmonizing systems for policy federation.
Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and South Sudan are expected. So are the officials of the African Public Procurement Network (APPN) namely the APPN Chairman, Mr. Madoda Mngomezulu and the Technical Secretary, Mr. Aftar Touré MOROU. Heads of procurement bodies, private sectors, and civil society and development partners among others are also expected.
This gathering will strictly respect the precautionary measures because of COVID-19, said the Director General of the Rwanda Public Procurement Authority, Mrs. Joyeuse Uwingeneye
Let’s recall that Rwanda has been participating in this public procurement forum since 2008 and this year is the third time they are hosting it.
