Democratic Republic of Congo: The Democratic Republic of Congo and Congo Brazzaville seal a partnership.

As neighbouring countries whose capitals, Kinshasa and Brazzaville, are separated by only a river, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Congo Brazzaville share the same concerns in terms of public procurement. The countries’ public procurement regulatory authorities have therefore decided to join forces. This was the purpose of the visit to Kinshasa on Friday 2 February 2024 by the CEO of Congo Brazzaville’s ARMP. The two bodies decided to share experiences on a number of points, including the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Integrated Public Procurement Management System.

On Friday 02 February 2024, the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) of the Democratic Republic of Congo received the Director General of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) of the Republic of Congo to share experiences on several points, including the Integrated Public Procurement Management System of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It was in this context that Ms Valencia ILOKI ENGAMBE, Director General of the ARMP in Congo Brazzaville, crossed the Congo River to learn about the digitisation of public procurement procedures in the DRC.

On her arrival at the ARMP/RDC headquarters, she was welcomed by Mr Armand CIAMALA KANYINDA, Chairman of the ARMP/RDC Board of Directors, and Mr Benoît KALIKAT KALEMBE,
ARMP/RDC Director General a.i.

The focus of this working visit was on the materialization of the DRC’s Integrated Public Procurement Management System.

Delighted with the welcome she received, Mrs ILOKI thanked the Managing Director of ARMP/RDC, underlining the fraternal and frank atmosphere that characterized this exchange of experiences.

This visit and exchange of experience between the two ARMPs on the  dematerialization of the public procurement system is just the beginning of a series of meetings planned to pool efforts in order to meet common challenges.
