Director General Congratulates Successful Candidates in the 2021 First Batch Conversion\Induction Training to the Procurement Cadre

The Director General, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) congratulates successful candidates in the 2021 First Batch Conversion\Induction Training to the Procurement Cadre. The DG was responding to the report of the Deputy Director, Research Training and Strategic Planning (RT&SP), Mr. Adedokun Adebowale, who briefed the DG and the management staff during the weekly management meeting on Monday August 23, 2021, that the result of the successful candidates is ready for release.

The DG urged the successful candidates to justify their success by showing excellence in the service of handling Procurement work in their various Federal MDAs and Institutions. “We must ensure a system is put in place for their continuous learning development,” He said.

The DD RT\SP during his briefing said, as designed by the Federal Government of Nigeria to build institutional capacity in the Procurement Cadre in Part 2 section 5 of the Public Procurement Act (PPA) 2007, the result of the prospective Procurement officers who attended the 2021, 1st Batch of the Procurement training exercise was ready. He said that, one hundred and seventy-two (172) officers were successful out of the 262 officers who sat for the examination representing 65.7% success rate.

31 officers would be issued with induction Certificates while others would receive Conversion Certificates The candidates went for the training for conversion\induction into Procurement Cadre on Sunday, May 23 to Friday, June 11 and wrote the exams on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) Oshodi, Lagos.
In another development, Director, Regulations and Database /ICT, BPP, Mr. Aliyu E. Aliyu and Two Officers of the Bureau were part of the Joint Technical Working groups on Financing and Contracting Schemes for cooperation in the peaceful application of Nuclear Science and Technology that were inaugurated.

The inauguration took place at the Reiz Continental Hotels in Abuja on Thursday August 26, 2021. The committee will be responsible for negotiating/working out modalities for the funding and financing of the Multipurpose Research Reactor as well as construction of Nuclear Power Plants.
